Halifax, NS  - KBRS is pleased to welcome Janice Tanner Ernst to the firm’s Human Resource Consulting practice as a Senior HR Consultant, focused on helping organizations address critical workforce challenges with a people-first approach.

“Our clients are looking for effective ways to build, retain, and develop their teams,” says Katherine Risley, Managing Partner. “Janice brings extensive experience as an HR leader with prominent organizations, and she is able to adapt leading-edge thinking to the realities of both small and large operations – from workforce planning and talent development to compensation consulting and employee engagement. We are thrilled to have her on the team.”

Janice's approach is informed by her experience in senior HR roles with prominent organizations from small and medium-sized enterprises to global organizations. She joins a diverse team of skilled professionals who comprise the HR Consulting practice at KBRS including Joanne Brown, Catherine J. Woodman, Michelle Fitzgerald, Heather Peters, Tony Case Ph.D., and Sonya Smithers. Together, they help organizations optimize the performance of their teams through a wide array of specialties including leadership coaching and talent development, talent assessment, change management, employee and labour relations, and HR advisory services including HR policy design and development.

“Many organizations are not able to have a full time HR professional on their team or their HR needs tend to outpace their internal capacity,” says Risley. “That’s when our team of skilled and experienced HR professionals and coaches are able to help.”

Janice is a Chartered Professional in Human Resources and earned a Bachelor of Commerce and a Human Resources Certificate from Saint Mary’s University. As an active community volunteer, she is Vice Chair of the Health Services Foundation of the South Shore and sits on the Capital Campaign Cabinet for the Redevelopment of the South Shore Regional Hospital. She is also actively involved in community building initiatives personally and professionally and encourages organizations to do the same.

“I am thrilled to join the KBRS team and I am looking forward to supporting the growing number of organizations in Atlantic Canada seeking support for people and culture – both to address challenges and realize opportunities,” says Janice Tanner Ernst.
