KBRS is pleased to have assisted in the appointment of Robin Gerus as the new Executive Director of Halifax Transit for the HRM. The following is an excerpt from their recent announcement.
-
Robin Gerus joins the municipality as the new Executive Director of Halifax Transit, effective Jan. 27, 2025. Robin brings extensive experience and a proven track record in public transit operations and leadership, making him an excellent choice to lead Halifax Transit into its next chapter of growth. He will join us from the City of Guelph, where he was the General Manager of Transit Operations for the past eight years. Under Robin’s leadership, his management team developed the Future Ready Action Plan, a 10-year action plan with a focus on expanding their transit networks to meet future population growth. He is also leading the Guelph Transit team towards transitioning to a fully electric bus fleet while meeting their zero emissions expectations.
Prior to this, Robin dedicated more than 35 years of service to the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC), where he held progressively senior positions across various transportation departments. His experience and collaborative leadership style aligns well with Halifax Transit’s commitment to tackle ridership growth through sustainable and accessible transportation solutions.
Upon Robin’s arrival, and as previously announced, Dave Reage will commence transitioning to his new role leading the Office of Strategic Infrastructure & Transportation Planning. I would like to thank Dave for his leadership and contributions to Halifax Transit over the past 17 years.
