Halifax, NS – November 20, 2023 – Wendy Luther, President & CEO, Halifax Partnership (the Partnership) is pleased to announce the appointment of Gordon Stevens as Chief Operating Officer.
Gordon’s professional career encompasses senior leadership positions in provincial government, private sector, and entrepreneurship. He will contribute an extensive understanding of team leadership, operational efficiency, financial stewardship, and fostering key relationships. Respected as both an analytical and creative thinker who can bring strategy to reality, Gordon has a lifelong passion for the economic vibrancy of this city.
Most recently, Gordon was Chief Operating Officer with the crown corporation Build Nova Scotia where he oversaw operational and financial management and led the integration of capital projects throughout the province. Previously, as founder and president of The Uncommon Group, Gordon conceived the “I Love Local” initiative bringing together hundreds of small, local businesses with collaborative marketing, events, and government relationships.
A chartered financial analyst, Gordon was previously Vice President Investments, Goesam Investment Ltd. and Vice President, Goldman Sachs Asset Management.

Reporting to the CEO, Gordon will be responsible for overall leadership of day-to-day operational functions. He will execute strategic plans, oversee the accountability of core teams, and ensure the organization runs efficiently while working in sync with the Partnership’s government, Investor, and community partners across the municipality.
