Dennis Hogan Appointed CEO of St. John's International Airport Authority

ST. JOHN’S, NL December 1, 2022 - The St. John’s International Airport Authority (SJIAA) Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Dennis Hogan as Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

“Our Board of Directors was beyond impressed with Dennis’ calibre of leadership, integrity, and passion for our community. With over 25 years of prominent executive leadership experience in government, industry, and not-for-profit organizations, along with his calm and confident demeanor, Dennis is well poised to lead the Airport Authority through the pandemic recovery phase and beyond,” said Tom Williams, Chair, SJIAA Board of Directors.

Dennis Hogan is currently the Chief Executive Officer of WorkplaceNL, a role he has held since 2016, and has led the organization through a comprehensive business modernization initiative designed to transform the organization’s deployment of people, processes and technology.

Prior to his appointment with WorkplaceNL, Dennis served in several senior executive roles with the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, including Assistant Deputy Minister (Workforce Development and Immigration) and Assistant Deputy Minister (Labour Marketing Recruitment – Major Projects) with the Department of Advanced Education, Skills and Labour. Prior to this, Dennis was Assistant Secretary to Cabinet (Economic Policy) with the Executive Council and Assistant Deputy Minister (Innovation, Research and Technology)/Chief Innovation Officer with the Department of Innovation, Trade and Rural Development.

Dennis has a deep commitment to building our province’s economy, as evidenced by his earlier career experience as the founding Executive Director of Oceans Advance, Newfoundland and Labrador’s ocean technology cluster initiative. He also served as the founding CEO of the Newfoundland and Labrador Construction Safety Association, and as an Employers’ Advisor with the Newfoundland and Labrador Employers’ Council.

Dennis holds a Bachelor of Arts (Economics and Business) from Memorial University and a Master of Business Administration from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he also completed advanced studies in leadership, strategy and communication as a graduate cross-registrant at Harvard University.

Dennis currently serves as First Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of the Association of Workers’ Compensation Board of Canada, and he is also a member of the Advisory Board, Future Skills Centre and the Advisory Council, Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science, Memorial University.
