Fredericton, NB (February 6, 2024)- After a comprehensive search process, the Chalmers Foundation welcomed Charles A. Diab as the new Chief Executive Officer on January 22, 2024.
A native of Toronto, Charles is an accomplished leader in the not-for-profit sector, with a track record of driving impactful change and fostering strategic growth. Charles holds an MBA, and will receive his Ph.D. in Social and Political Science later this year, having submitted his thesis on Corporate Social Responsibility. He received his first degree (Bachelor of Business Administration) from the University of New Brunswick in 1983 and is thrilled at the opportunity to come back to New Brunswick.
“The Chalmers Foundation is pleased to welcome Charles into the top role,” said Dr. Mark MacMillan, Chair of the Board of Directors. “The search for a new CEO was an extensive process with close to 100 applicants. Our Hiring Committee worked closely with employment agency KBRS to ensure we found the best possible fit for the Foundation. We offer sincere thanks to Interim CEO Doug Daley, and the staff for their invaluable contributions over the last six months, and for their help in the transition process.”
Following a successful career in the corporate world, Charles transitioned to the not-for-profit sector via Abu Dhabi University as Executive Director Advancement and Alumni Affairs. Since 2013, Charles has led major fundraising and partnership efforts, and in September 2020 he returned to Toronto where he continued to grow his skillset and passion for community building. He says, “The Chalmers Foundation’s commitment to supporting healthy, caring communities aligns perfectly with my personal values, and I am excited to bring my expertise and passion to the role of CEO, working alongside the dedicated team to advance the Foundation’s mission.”
“The timing is perfect: staff successful wrapped up the Enhancing Your Care campaign, as well as the Outdoor Pediatric Play Area Project for Horizon Health Network’s Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in December of 2023, which means that we are all able to start on an exciting, new campaign that we look forward to announcing in the upcoming weeks,” says Charles.
