EduNova, located in Halifax, Nova Scotia, is a provincial co-operative association of education providers - the only one of its kind in Canada. EduNova’s mission is to champion Nova Scotia as a leader in the international student recruitment and experience while advancing social and economic growth in the province. Its membership is comprised of colleges, universities, language schools, and K-12 public and independent schools that work together to bring students from all over the world to Nova Scotia - to study, stay, and thrive.

The Opportunity
EduNova is looking for a dynamic, forward-thinking, and strategic leader to guide the organization as the next President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Reporting to the Board of Directors, you will guide EduNova’s adaptation to a continually changing landscape to maintain the organization’s place as a nationally recognized leader in education policy, workforce integration, and international student recruitment, retention, and programming. As President and CEO, you will lead the development of strategic and operational plans, mobilizing staff, volunteers, and resources to advance EduNova’s mission. You will foster collaboration and team alignment across the organization, building a culture of excellence and shared purpose. You’ll also advocate for EduNova and its mission, forging strong relationships with strategic partners, government bodies, NGOs, and international stakeholders. Lastly, you will position EduNova as a key voice in national and international education policy discussions.

The impact you will make as the President and CEO will play a critical role in shaping the future of EduNova as well as international student recruitment, experience, and education within the province. You will lead with clarity and purpose, driving innovation and ensuring long-term organizational sustainability and success.

You will be responsible for undertaking EduNova’s:
  • Leadership and strategic vision
  • Program and organizational development
  • Financial and operational management
  • Partner relations and advocacy
Ideal Candidate Profile
As the ideal candidate, you are a passionate and strategic leader with deep policy and advocacy experience who has a proven track record of uniting teams and engaging diverse partners to guide and inspire them toward a shared vision. Along with advanced academic qualifications, you possess expertise in government relations, policy influence, and strategic partnerships, enabling you to navigate the public and private sectors to align the organization’s goals with members’ needs.

Your strong business, governance, and financial acumen ensure fiscal responsibility and sustainability and operational excellence. Both a “thinker” and a “doer,” you collaborate effectively with the Board, lead strategic planning, and adapt to evolving budgets and priorities—while staying close to day-to-day operations to ensure seamless implementation of initiatives and alignment across the team. Ideally, your experience in the education sector enables you to foster collaboration across business, government, and community partners, delivering value to its diverse members and advancing EduNova’s mission and position as a leader in international student recruitment and experience. As an innovative and globally minded leader, you are comfortable operating in a domestic and international context, ensuring the organization remains responsive to opportunities in the ever-evolving education sector. You are comfortable working within technologically enabled environments and can leverage data and insights to make informed, future-focused decisions and guide the team through periods of uncertainty with great agility, joy, and a forward-thinking mindset.
