What does this role entail? 

Reporting to a senior member of the regulatory team and collaborating cross-functionally, the Director, Regulatory provides direction and guidance on telecommunications policies and regulatory frameworks. You will assist in the implementation of the organization’s vision and strategic plan for regulatory affairs by assessing key issues and ensuring compliance with legal and policy frameworks. You will contribute to internal policy development, prepare regulatory submissions and advocate Eastlink’s interest in proceedings via written submissions. Finally, you will navigate the evolving regulatory environment to develop a deep understanding of Canada’s internet and mobile services market, broadcasting, emerging technologies, and applicable legal and regulatory context. 

As the ideal candidate you: 
  • Bring several years of progressive experience leading legal, regulatory or public policy initiatives. Experience in a large, multifaceted organization is considered an asset.
  • Have exceptional communication skills, with a particular talent for delivering impactful presentations and advocacy writing, including persuasive submissions and reports.
  • Are a strong negotiator and influencer, with excellent interpersonal skills that enable you to build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships.
  • Bring a unique blend of vision, business acumen and unwavering attention to detail.
  • Have strong organizational abilities, excelling in project management and prioritization to drive the successful execution of company objectives.
