Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and working with ACL’s finance and executive teams, as well as the finance functions of our operating companies, the Senior Director, Treasury is responsible for managing and leading effective treasury and risk management, including the insurance portfolio. This position plays a key role in managing a sizeable, complex loan book and hedging portfolio for private family corporate office. 

The Senior Director, Treasury requires excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, including the ability to manage fruitful relationships to structure deals with Canadian and American lenders. Other key relationships will be within the family-owned and operated business and our multitude of operating companies, as this role owns all aspects of centralized cash management and insurance.

Responsibilities:
  • Minimizing the cost of capital by the continuous monitoring of capital markets for opportunities to diversify funding sources by market and instrument. 
  • Build and maintain relationships with lenders to ensure flexibility in capital generation.
  • Providing governance and oversight for accounts payable and accounts receivable, which are operated in individual opcos. 
  • Ensuring efficient forecasting and modelling is activated for strategic decision making on cash flow. 
  • Special projects for the modernization of treasury function

To be right for this role, you likely have either significant experience managing the hedging and loans portfolios for a large private company with an entrepreneurial mindset or commercial banking/lending experience. Regardless, success in this role requires strong general business acumen and the ability to relate the treasury function to the finance team, corporate ownership, and to the leadership of our opcos of all sizes. 
  • Your exceptional organizational skills enable you to manage competing priorities and challenges while consistently balancing responsibility and accountability.
  • You can effectively communicate strategic priorities and implement procedures, systems and benchmarks which will ensure the organization achieves its growth objectives. 
  • You enjoy being part of a small but very impactful team. 
  • You are known for your careful balancing of many relationships with lenders of different types. 
  • You bring experience forecasting and modelling for cash flow. 
  • Ultimately, integrity is at the core of who you are and how you work, and you bring a high degree of discretion to all you do.
  • Designation is preferred (e.g., CFA, CPA, MBA, CBV).
