The Role
Reporting to the Provost & Vice-President, Academic and working closely with the Vice-President, External, the Associate Vice-President, International (AVP, International) will provide strategic leadership to enhance Brock University’s international profile. The incumbent will create and implement comprehensive strategies to attract and support international students, foster global research collaborations, and strengthen international partnerships.
As a key institutional ambassador, the AVP, International will build and maintain relationships with global institutions, government bodies, and educational organizations. They will develop international recruitment pipelines, ensure world-class student support services, and expand Brock’s presence on the global stage through innovative initiatives that enhance cultural exchange and academic partnerships.

- Global Engagement and Partnerships: Establish new and nurture existing partnerships with international universities, governments, agents and organizations. Lead international research collaborations and manage agreements supporting academic exchanges and joint initiatives.
- International Student Recruitment: Design and execute targeted recruitment strategies to increase international student enrollment, leveraging marketing campaigns, international partnerships, and recruitment fairs.
- Student Success and Integration: Foster a welcoming environment by supporting academic success, cultural integration, and personal development of international students through comprehensive support services and programs.
The ideal candidate is an experienced and innovative leader with a proven record of advancing internationalization strategies in the post-secondary sector. Qualifications and Experience:
- A graduate degree is considered an asset.
- Significant senior leadership experience in international education, student recruitment, and global partnership development.
- Proven success in implementing international recruitment strategies, managing diverse teams, and fostering global collaborations.
- Expertise in creating supportive environments for international students, ensuring seamless integration and academic success.
