Working from our Toronto office, with regular visits to each campus, the Provost will provide leadership and oversight for all academic affairs and ensure the effective delivery and growth of high-quality, financially viable, educational programs. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Provost will work closely with the President and Vice Chancellor, program leaders, faculty and academic leadership to advance Yorkville University and Toronto Film School’s mission and strategic priorities, fostering a culture of academic excellence, inclusivity, and innovation.
Serving as the primary leader on academic matters, the Provost is responsible for developing, evolving and executing a multi-year academic plan that is aligned with overall business strategies and supports the future success of the organization. The Provost leads academic operations, overseeing the campus Principals, Teaching & Learning and Research Office.
Working with other senior academic leaders, the Provost is accountable for establishing strategies and metric-driven objectives, ensuring faculty and academic staff create an exceptionally engaging and supportive learning environment, whether in class or online, supported by a professionally relevant, technology-enabled curriculum, in full compliance with government and other regulatory bodies. The Provost also ensures faculty are well-supported in their scholarly teaching, research and service endeavours, encouraging effective engagement with community partners and alignment with the university’s strategic priorities.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Earned doctorate from a recognized university in a relevant field.
- Senior academic leadership experience overseeing faculty, strategy and budgets.
- Proven effectiveness as an innovative thinker, having championed change within teaching, research and/or service endeavours. Strategic thinker with strong collaborative and communication skills, academic business acumen, and the ability to work in a complex environment.
- Ability to demonstrate expert knowledge and senior experience in teaching and learning strategies, course and program development, student engagement, and research.
- Proven experience in successful engagement with regulatory bodies (government and professional).
- Solid understanding and experience in people leadership, including approaches for mentoring other change makers, team collaboration, fostering inclusive working environments, managing team objectives, coaching, performance management, and conflict management.
- Understanding and utilizing systems to analyze and employ data to drive strategic decision making.
- Experience working in highly dynamic and fast paced educational settings and/or organizations with strong customer focus and multiple transformation initiatives.
- Expert verbal and written communication, interpersonal, negotiation and networking skills, with experience preparing and facilitating presentations; advanced MS Office skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Teams).
- Knowledge of current trends and challenges in higher education, including online learning, Artificial Intelligence (AI), global education, and workforce development.
- Experience in building and maintaining partnerships with external stakeholders, including industry, government, and community organizations.
