Every year, one in five people live with a mental health challenge or illness. The highest rate of those living with mental health challenges and illness is among young adults ages 20-29 and for most people living with mental illness, it begins in adolescence. Youth living with mental illness need social support and a safe space to get help and be themselves. Laing House provides this space.

Laing House (Laing) is a non-profit that is dedicated to empowering young people living with mental illness and is proud to have supported the community for over 20 years. Laing provides well-rounded support in young people’s wellness plans, which leads to better outcomes. They offer quality, non-clinical, people-centered mental health support for young people ages 16 - 29.  Laing believes that social and peer support offers low-cost, low-barrier and sustainable options for enhancing mental wellness where their members can become agents of positive change for themselves and for others.

Now, the Board of Directors for Laing House is seeking a dynamic, experienced leader who is passionate about Laing’s important mandate. The right leader will be excited by the opportunity to leverage their skills and talents to lead Laing through a process of transformation and evolution and to establish a new strategic plan and foundation for the organization that will best support a shared mission to empower youth living with mental illness.
