Brightisle, part of the Seafair Capital group – one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies – is a leading provider of health and community care services in Newfoundland and Labrador. Brightisle is searching for its next CEO to build an innovative and dynamic legacy of high-quality community care.

The Role

Reporting to and working closely with the Board of Directors, the CEO is responsible for the overall success of the organization. Leading with Brightisle’s core values and vision, the CEO will develop strategy, drive sustainable growth, and create lasting value while ensuring the utmost quality, efficiency, and safety in the care of the people served by Brightisle. The CEO must foster effective, trusting, and fruitful relationships at all levels within the organization and continue to build partnerships and networks that engage community healthcare providers, municipalities, government, unions, and other stakeholders. They will model the core values in their day-to-day leadership and ensure Brightisle’s overall commitment to imagining, learning, building, and delivering excellent care to Newfoundlanders and Labradorians.

Key areas of oversight and responsibility are:
Strategic Leadership and Governance – Leads with innovative and forward-thinking strategies that are in harmony with Brightisle's core values, goals, and strategic direction. Ensures value creation for shareholders while delivering high-quality community care services, emphasizing sustainability and strategic growth.

Partnerships and Development – Builds and nurtures relationships with industry stakeholders, including government and community partners, to enable collaboration that reflects Brightisle’s mission and contributes to mutual growth. Focuses on developing innovative care solutions and expanding service offerings to enhance community impact and revenue streams.

Operational Oversight – Oversees Brightisle's operations in 27 communities in NL, ensuring efficient and effective management. Mentors and leads a multidisciplinary team while fostering positive culture, encouraging professional growth, and achieving strategic objectives and operational goals.

Advocacy and Representation – Acts as a passionate advocate and voice for Brightisle, sharing its contributions to community care and health innovation at local, regional, and national levels. Represents the organization effectively to stakeholders, partners, and the media, highlighting its role in enhancing community well-being and economic development.

Qualifications and Experience

While the Search Committee recognizes that no one candidate is likely to meet all qualifications in equal measure, those listed below are desirable and will be used to compare candidates.
• Proven success as a senior executive in a multi-stakeholder environment, with a strong record of strategic leadership and business performance.
• Demonstrated success in developing and executing on a strategic plan, preferably in direct collaboration with a board of directors.
• A proven track record of fostering positive relationships and partnerships with government, health care professionals, community leaders, unions, and other local institutions and organizations.
• Strong business acumen, including the ability to identify, source and report business intelligence from within and outside the organization.
• Demonstrated commitment to Reconciliation, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.
• Experience in health or community care is considered an asset but is not required
