The Opportunity

Stewart McKelvey’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be responsible for overseeing all non-legal shared services functions including administrative operations, risk and compliance, IT operations, marketing, communications, and events. This will require championing innovation and change to ensure that our systems, technology and workflows efficiently facilitate the core, client-facing legal operations of this growing firm.

In strategic alignment with the executive team and partnership board, this role will design, implement and regularly adapt systems and processes to increase efficiency and resiliency within the firm, and prepare us to lead an innovative practice of tomorrow. The role of the COO is to be proactive in managing quality and ensuring strategic review and continuous improvement, while developing and mentoring a strong team.

What we offer

Join the C-suite of a growing company and elevate our operations to see far-reaching impact across our network of partners and clients in all industries.

Who you are

A strong and well-rounded leader with high EQ, humility and consummate relationship-building ability. This role calls for a hands-on, visionary, results-driven executive with exceptional organizational and communications skills, a proven track record in operational excellence and the ability to lead an enterprise-wide transformation within a complex network of stakeholders.

The right person for this role is confident but doesn’t take themselves too seriously, is resilient and has a high degree of integrity: you say what you do and do what you say. You are comfortable leading highly capable teams and are known as a mentor, encouraging people around you to be and do their very best.
