Denise Perret

Knightsbridge Robertson Surrette is pleased to have assisted the Department of Health and Wellness for the Government of Nova Scotia with the appointment of Denise Perret as the Deputy Minister for the Department.

Previously, Ms. Perret was assistant deputy minister with Alberta Health, were she led the development of the strategic vision for health care in Alberta. She has extensive experience in health organization governance and has managed research and innovation initiatives for Alberta Health.

Ms. Perret has also served as assistant deputy minister, Justice and Solicitor General in Alberta. She has more than 25 years of experience in public law, policy development, and management across departments.

Ms. Perret holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Alberta in addition to a Master of Public Administration from Queen’s University.

Her appointment to the role of Deputy Minister is effective January 16, 2017, following the retirement of Peter Vaughan from the role.
