Executive Director, Seneca International
Seneca is a leading postsecondary educational institution with a stellar reputation for offering high quality programs at the baccalaureate degree, graduate, diploma and certificate levels. Seneca has an annual enrollment of 26,000 full time and over 70,000 part-time students including 10,000 international students from over 170 countries. With over 180 programs offered, including 17 degree programs, students are exposed to more than 500 career options. Opening in September 2020, Seneca International Academy (SIA) offers select full-time programs for international students. Based in Markham, the SIA will be a dedicated on-campus academy specializing in education for international students.
Reporting to the Vice President, Finance and Administration, the Executive Director is accountable for providing strategic and innovative direction and implementation for shaping the full spectrum of activities associated with international student recruitment and business development, including development and implementation of Seneca’s international strategy and plan, new revenue generating opportunities, alliances and partnerships that contribute to continued growth of Seneca International, the development of foreign markets, student recruitment, pre-admission student services, admissions support, and on-campus student services support for international applicants, prospective students and students in Canada and abroad.
As the ideal candidate, you bring a blend of academic, business, and international leadership experience and the entrepreneurial approach required for success in this role. Comfortable leading complex portfolio of programs/functional areas and people, you also have the proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including academic leaders, faculty, staff, and students. Strategic by nature, you bring a global perspective and a deep understanding of the value of partnerships. Dynamic, hands-on, and self-sufficient, you possess first-rate relationship building and interpersonal skills and a passion for enhancing cross-cultural communication within a complex, postsecondary education environment. The successful candidate must have the experience and ability to travel abroad. This position requires global travel multiple times throughout the year. As the ideal candidate, you have a minimum four-year degree in a relevant field; a Master’s degree (or working towards) is strongly preferred; a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience, working in a senior level position at a post- secondary educational institution, public sector institution or closely related sector.
