Human Resources Manager

With offices located in Fredericton and Miramichi, New Brunswick, Forest Protection Limited (FPL) has been providing aerial protection to forests through services such as fire management, pest management and aerial surveys since 1952. Forest Protection Limited is a private company funded by the New Brunswick government and a group of New Brunswick-based forestry organizations. As a leader in their industry, FPL has a team of highly trained staff and a customized fleet with a range of specialized equipment, computers and software making their aircraft unique to Canada and abroad.

Based in Fredericton, NB and reporting to the General Manager, the Human Resources Manager is the first full-time human resources function for Forest Protection Limited. The Human Resources Manager will perform all core HR functions in this non-unionized environment. In this role, you will review current policies and systems to ensure consistency and compliance and develop an HR function that will bring best practices in performance management, employee engagement and recruitment. You are a strong generalist who will work with a highly specialized and engaged team that expands significantly during the summer months. In this role you will be a voice at the management table and asked to review options and make recommendations for updating payroll and records management systems.

The ideal candidate is a strong generalist ready for progression. Solid recruitment experience required, as well as experience with systems and the development and implementation of new HR programs and policies. You are a strong relationship builder and communicator, equally happy in the day to day activities and strategic business planning with the senior management team.
