Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Acadian Timber (TSX: ADN) seeks its next Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join the senior leadership team in Edmundston, New Brunswick. Acadian is a leading supplier of primary forest products in Eastern Canada and the Northeastern United States with approximately 2.4 million acres of land under management in New Brunswick and Maine. As the second largest timberland operator in those regions, Acadian has a strong track record of success and adheres to the highest standards of safety and environmental stewardship. Acadian owns and manages approximately 1.1 million acres of freehold timberlands in New Brunswick and Maine and provides harvesting and management services relating to approximately 1.3 million acres of Crown licensed timberlands in New Brunswick. Acadian's products include softwood and hardwood saw logs, pulpwood and biomass by-products sold to approximately 85 regional customers.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Financial Officer will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all finance-related activities of the company and will be responsible for managing the financial risks of the corporation. This will include direct responsibility for accounting, financial reporting, treasury and cash management, income tax, preparation of strategic and operating plans, cost analysis and financing. The CFO will also be responsible for maintaining banking and lending relationships as well as investor relations.

As the ideal candidate, you possess a professional accounting designation and a post-secondary degree, ideally combined with several years of progressive financial leadership experience in a publicly traded company. You possess deep knowledge of financial management and accounting standards, demonstrated your ability to work closely and effectively with a broad range of stakeholders, and have excellent financial analysis, reporting and presentation skills. You are a trusted business advisor with the capability for timely, clear and decisive action. You have a successful track record identifying and driving value in an organization and developing and successfully executing strategic plans and complex budgets. You have a strong interest in overall business operations and are a big-picture thinker who is comfortable and effective working both at the strategic and tactical levels, equally comfortable in the boardroom and with frontline employees. Bilingualism (English and French) is considered a strong asset.
