The newly created position of Chief Strategy & Operations Officer (CSOO) is the most senior nonpracticing leadership position at McInnes Cooper. Reporting to the Managing Partner and as a key member of the Firm-Wide Management Team, the CSOO’s key priorities include leading business growth, innovation, engagement, and effective oversight of business operations. The CSOO will support the Managing Partner in the development and execution of the firm’s strategic plans and business objectives and ensure effective and efficient systems are in place for the firm’s clients and people.


You will collaborate with the CFO on all aspects of financial management and ensure the Board of Directors and Managing Partner are consistently kept up to date on the progress toward established goals and matters such as risk management, statutory and regulatory compliance, business development opportunities, market conditions and emerging trends within the legal services industry. You will also be responsible for identifying new opportunities for growing and diversifying the firm’s service offerings and geographical reach.


The ideal candidate has a post-secondary degree in Business or a related field and ten plus years of senior leadership experience within a highly professional environment. You have expertise in business operations such as finance, corporate services, human resources, information technology, marketing and administration, as well as a keen interest in emerging business practices, trends and technologies. You have a leadership style that is approachable and inclusive, as well as a passion for innovation and driving projects forward from idea to fruition. You possess the skills, experience and qualities which will complement McInnes Cooper’s excellent reputation and elevate the organization’s profile as one of the most respected and leading-edge legal firms in the country.
