Chair, School of Aviation

Seneca is a leading postsecondary educational institution with a stellar reputation for offering high quality programs at the baccalaureate degree, graduate, diploma and certificate levels. The approximately 30,000 full time students and 70,000 part time registrants, faculty, staff and alumni share a passion for the school. Hardworking, ambitious and compassionate: that approach, that culture, is what Seneca is all about.

With an annual enrolment of over 1,000 students, Seneca is one of Canada’s premier aviation schools and a national leader in aviation education. It is renowned internationally for highly sought-after graduates, expert faculty and strong industry partnerships. The opportunity to lead and build on this excellence in program development and delivery awaits the next Chair, School of Aviation.

Reporting to the Dean, Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering Technology (FASET), the Chair is responsible for influencing the direction and future of the School of Aviation (SoA). Working as part of the FASET Leadership Team, the Chair will champion the development and implementation of the Schools’ strategic initiatives that are aligned with Seneca’s Strategic Plan, Strategic Mandate Agreement, Academic and Business Plans, while ensuring quality program delivery and student success and achievement are at the forefront of decision making. The Chair oversees all aspects of curriculum development for course and program planning and delivery; integrated planning and budgeting processes; and manages human, financial and physical resources for the SoA. Building and strengthening aliances and partnerships with business, industry, associations, and other faculties are key elements of the Chair’s activities to stay abreast of new developments in education, emerging technologies and advancements in aviation and academia.
