The Canadian Corps of Commissionaires, Newfoundland & Labrador Division, Inc. (Commissionaires) is a member division of the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires, Canada's premier security provider.

The Canadian Corps of Commissionaires is comprised of 15 independent Divisions working in concert to their common social mandate – to provide meaningful employment for former members of the Canadian Armed Forces, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and those who wish to contribute to the security and well-being of Canadians. The Commissionaires employs over 21,000 men and women across Canada of all ages and from many walks of life, including but not limited to former Canadian Forces and RCMP personnel from coast to coast to coast.

Reporting to the Board of Governors, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for the implementation of the Division’s strategic plan, including business development, contract management, financial stewardship of a multi-million-dollar budget and the leadership and management of the Commissionaires and support staff. The CEO will create the networks necessary to optimize the performance of the Division while guiding the organization through a change process that will better respond to the needs of the modern veteran. The key areas of accountability for the CEO are to develop a compelling strategic and operational vision; management of day-to-day operations; financial stewardship; development of the team; business development; and promoting the Division through relationship building and management. The CEO will establish targets and standards of performance and drive the Commissionaires to build on past successes, expanding employment opportunities for our growing membership and realize its full potential.

The ideal candidate has at least 10 years of senior leadership experience, ideally within a military, police or service-related environment and an understanding of the culture of the uniform, as well as a post-secondary degree or equivalent is considered an asset. You are highly analytical, detailed and creative and you have excellent communication, consensus building and interpersonal skills. You are innovative and have the ability to shift with the changing security sector and lead the organization through change towards digitally based security solutions. You have a proven record of managing large accounts and are able to ensure operational effectiveness and identify opportunities for improving efficiency and client service. You can develop and communicate a vision, management philosophy and sound business strategy, deliver both operationally and fiscally and implement procedures and strategic benchmarks which will help the organization make its short- and long- term objectives a reality. You have a strong understanding of corporate governance and experience working with Boards.

You possess a strong knowledge of financial and accounting principles and systems; along with exceptional multi-tasking and time management skills; consistently demonstrating sound judgment and timely decision-making. You have experience resolving technical issues. You will have a successful track record of leading a large group of professionals and building high performance teams. You are a team player and visible leader with a high degree of integrity and honesty, someone who consistently leads by example, and who earns the respect of colleagues both inside and outside of the organization.
