Chief Financial and Information Officer (CFIO)

Serving approximately 13,000 injured workers and 18,500 employers each year, WorkplaceNL administers an employer-funded, no-fault workplace insurance system that promotes safe and healthy workplaces, provides return-to-work programs and offers fair compensation to injured workers and their dependents. Building on a commitment to excellence in client service, WorkplaceNL has recently embarked on an exciting, multi-year business transformation initiative, which will position the organization for future success. Within this context, we are now seeking our next Chief Financial and Information Officer (CFIO).

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the CFIO is responsible for providing dynamic leadership and direction for the delivery of effective financial management and oversight, internal controls, facilities and procurement functions, and the prudent management of WorkplaceNL's injury fund according to the policies and governance structure approved by WorkplaceNL’s Board of Directors. This position also provides vision and leadership for developing and implementing information technology and information management initiatives that support the organization’s business transformation program. The CFIO directs the planning and implementation of enterprise information technology systems to improve service quality and cost-effectiveness, and to develop new, efficient business processes. This position is also responsible for all aspects of the organization’s information technology and systems.

As the ideal candidate, you hold a degree in business administration or commerce, preferably at the Masters level, and a Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) designation, along with a minimum of ten years of related financial management experience at a senior level in a public or private organization that provides programs and services to a diverse client group. Experience in the management of investment or pension funds would be an asset. You also possess strong analytical skills and in-depth knowledge of information technology and information management best practices, along with demonstrated skills in planning, organizing and delivering service to multiple stakeholders. In addition, you have the ability to effectively direct the operations and the delivery of services within a user-focused information systems department toward the achievement of organizational goals.
