New Brunswick

Superintendent, Roosevelt Campobello International Park

Since 1964, Roosevelt Campobello International Park has attracted over 150,000 visitors per year to a unique eco-tourism historic tourism vacation experience. Located on Campobello Island, New Brunswick, the Park is just across the international border from Lubec on the easternmost tip of Maine. It is a singular example of international cooperation – jointly administered, staffed, and funded by the peoples of Canada and the United States, and is the only true international park in the world. The park and its governing Commission (RCIPC) were created by a 1964 international agreement between Canada and the U.S. and is a memorial to President Franklin D. Roosevelt, his special relationship with Campobello Island and its people. The Roosevelt Campobello International Park is a living tribute and testament to the friendship and mutual respect between two adjacent sovereign nations, the U.S. and Canada, which share the world’s longest border.

The focal point of the Park is the Franklin D. Roosevelt summer cottage. Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt’s magnificent summer home is preserved and features a combination indoor museum and outdoor nature park. Visitors can enjoy tours of the Roosevelt Cottage, Tea with Eleanor, F.U.N. tours, an Evening at the Cottage dinner program, flower garden tours, as well as exploring the Visitor Centre, hiking and cycling trails, beaches, forest, and spectacular ocean headlands in the Park’s 2,800 acre Natural Area and enjoy lunch at the Prince Cafe.
The Roosevelt Campobello International Park Commission is seeking its next Superintendent to build upon the Park’s reputation of excellence and lead it into the future.
