Knightsbridge Robertson Surrette has named Executive Search Consultant, Laura Godsoe as its Diversity and Inclusion Lead. In addition to serving as a search consultant to academic and public-sector clients, Laura will also provide counsel and strategic advice on equity issues.
Originally from Halifax, Laura spent twelve years in Toronto before moving back home three years ago to join the firm as a specialist for the academic sector and to serve as the firm’s Manager of Research. Prior to her return home, she worked for many years in both teaching and research positions at universities across Ontario and in the publishing world where she was most recently Managing Editor at an academic publisher. She holds a Masters and PhD from Toronto’s York University where her research into historical issues of equity, gender, and race was the recipient of a Social Science and Humanities Research Fellowship.
Both her academic training and professional experience have helped her to develop sound strategies for successfully incorporating principles of diversity and inclusion into the recruitment and selection process, and to serve as a coach and resource to the firm’s large research team, guiding them towards best practices in the search for diverse pools of candidates.
The new role is simply formal recognition of something the firm has been offering for some time as part of its full scope search services as clients across both the public and private sector have increasingly sought guidance around strategies to increase the diversity of their workforce.
