Knightsbridge Robertson Surrette is pleased to have assisted in the appointment of Karen McGrath as Horizon Health Network’s next chief executive officer.
Karen McGrath, an experienced health-care executive, was chosen through an open and transparent national search process. She will assume the position in January when current CEO John McGarry retires.
"Karen McGrath brings with her more than 35 years of experience in the health-care sector in Atlantic Canada and Central Canada," said Health Minister Victor Boudreau. "Her skills, abilities and competencies will be an enormous asset to the Horizon Health Network in delivering sustainable, safe and good quality health-care services to residents of New Brunswick."
McGrath, a native of Newfoundland and Labrador, comes to New Brunswick following more than 14 years as CEO in various organizations, including the Georgian Bay General Hospital, Central Health (Newfoundland and Labrador), the Ontario Division of the Canadian Mental Health Association, and Health and Community Services (Central Newfoundland and Labrador). She has also held complex and challenging positions within the health-care sector, both in hospital settings and with regional health authorities in Ontario and Newfoundland and Labrador.
McGrath holds a master's degree in business administration and a bachelor's degree in social work from Memorial University. She also obtained a diploma in health services management from the Canadian Hospital Association.
Please join us in wishing Karen McGrath well in her new role.
