The New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island Division comprises over 850 well-trained and dedicated individuals serving both provinces from its headquarters in Saint John and ensures the security of the public and private sector clients from Saint Stephen, NB to Souris, PEI. As a full service security provider, Commissionaires offer trained security guards, enforcement services and identification services from its network of five regional offices.
Reporting to the Board of Governors, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for the implementation of the Division’s strategic plan, including business development, contract management, financial stewardship of a multi-million dollar budget and personnel management for 850 Commissionaires and support staff in two provinces. The CEO will create the networks necessary to optimize the performance of the Division while guiding the organization through a change process that will better respond to the needs of the modern veteran. The key areas of accountability for the CEO are strategic and operational vision and leadership; management of day to day operations; financial stewardship; development of the team; business development; promoting the Division through relationship building and management.
The ideal candidate has at least 10 years of senior leadership experience, ideally within a military, police or service-related environment Understanding the culture of the uniform, as well as a post-secondary degree or equivalent. You are highly analytical, detailed, and creative and you have excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. You have a proven ability to assess and ensure operational effectiveness and to identify opportunities for improving efficiency and client service. You can develop and communicate a vision, management philosophy and sound business strategy, deliver both operationally and fiscally and implement procedures and strategic benchmarks which will help the organization make its short and long-term objectives a reality. You are a self-starter who makes things happen and you have the ability to set priorities and objectives while remaining flexible and open-minded. Good knowledge of financial and accounting principals and systems; innate relationship building, client relations and business development skills; exceptional multi-tasking and time management skills; consistently demonstrates sound judgment and timely decision-making. A team player and visible leader who earns the respect of colleagues both inside and outside of the organization, you exemplify common sense and a practical approach to achieving objectives. Bilingualism is required.
