Director, Key Accounts & Commercial Development

We are currently looking to fill the position of Director, Key Accounts and Commercial Development. This is a newly created and high impact leadership position. Reporting to the Vice President, Commercial, the Director, Key Accounts & Commercial Development will lead the sales team in the development and execution of a proactive strategy for new business and larger accounts. The successful incumbent will build relationships with Economic Development partners and Key Accounts.  Collaborate to devise creative and innovative solutions to help meet their energy requirements, enhance NSPI’s market relevance and extend market reach and more importantly, create impactful business value for our customers.

The Director, Key Accounts & Commercial Development will be a proactive leader in the organization, building relationships, identifying opportunities, formulating strategies, and leading focused efforts with clear results. This role will manage and direct business development activities, identifying the best opportunities for consistent market expansion. Continually identifying key priorities and activities that draw upon finely-tuned analytical skills to consistently measure performance. The incumbent will provide sound strategic advice that supports overall business objectives and will lead by example in enhancing NSPI’s profile.

As the ideal candidate, you possess a bachelor’s degree coupled with a minimum of 15 years of progressive business or commercial sales experience with a successful track record in driving revenue growth. You demonstrate the ability to think outside the box and act strategically; possess superior interpersonal skills, including presentation, persuasion, negotiation and conflict resolution. A skilled relationship builder and collaborator, you possess a track record in consultative sales, problem solving and commercial acumen. You are action and result-orientated, and have led successful sales teams. Experience developing technical solutions for commercial industrial customers and working in a regulated environment would be considered an asset. Lastly, you have a passion for improving customer experience and bring an innovative approach to customer solutions. As part of our team, you will design and execute strategies to support the future evolution and growth of Nova Scotia Power.
