Corporate Counsel (2 positions)

Two of Eastern Canada’s most complex legal roles

If you’re looking for added complexity, variety and strategic opportunity, you may well find them here.  With its organizational foundation of shared values, high performance and community engagement, this diversified Eastern Canada corporation is currently looking for two Corporate Counsels to augment its stellar legal team.

For the more senior role, along with your LL.B./Juris Doctor you have 10+ years of experience within a professional law firm or multi-unit corporation. Already a Partner or General Counsel, you will offer expert counsel to corporate and operating unit executives on strategic issues, compliance, risk management and acquisitions.  Act as a partner and an enabler of corporate growth and corporate citizenship.  With your innate mentoring skills, you will guide the legal team in analyzing, reviewing and advising on contracts, agreements, transactions, divestitures and joint ventures and oversee multi-jurisdictional matters.

The second Corporate Counsel will have 4+ years of experience within a complex organization and will provide sound legal advice on a wide range of projects and corporate issues.  Currently an associate or in house Counsel, you can recommend appropriate courses of action based upon thorough risk analysis in order to facilitate effective decision-making.  You will work closely with the legal team to ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations and standards.

Both Corporate Counsels will make it a priority to maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices, compliance obligations, proposed and existing legislation and regulatory developments.  An MBA or business degree would be valuable assets for both positions.

In addition to broader strategic responsibilities and generous compensation, this high profile corporation offers exceptional career options.
